We also had a ref I’ve never heard of before. Burr was supposed to be the lead ref and got injured Tuesday night, so Higgins took over the lead, and they brought in someone else. Mayborg (sp?) was the other ref.

Tim Higgins= most inconsistent ref ever. Hand to hand combat allowed one time down the floor then calls a foul for breathing on a guy the next time… I think he invented the “freshmen don’t get the calls” method of officiating, too.

Weber wanted him to try and slow down Battle, who had been scoring easily about every 3 seconds when he was allowed to just go to the basket unimpeded. So he was doing what the coach wanted, but yes, got too close. Freshman mistake.

Considering that Battle was about 85 feet from his basket, Paul had no business being that close to him to put himself in the position to have a foul called.

That was a rookie mistake by Paul and a crafty veteran move by Battle. Wish the refs wouldn't fall for it, but hopefully Brandon learned a valuable lesson there. Actually I think the foul before that was a similar play as well, he let himself get "hooked" and to the refs it looked like he fouled Battle even though Battle initiated the contact.

>why couldn't we play this way against, NU, that loss really stings now.....ugh.

>Mike Davis, even though he had an "OK" game, is just flat out terrible now, he's making mistakes like freshman out there. I hope he gets his head back in the game soon. I know he was sick at NU and maybe lingering effects in this game, but what about the last few weeks before?

>great game by DJ, but Brandon paul? wtf? that foul in that last 1.5 min in which he fouled out had to been one of the dumbest things ever! looking at the replay it was cheapo, but he should not have been in that situation.
