He got HACKED big time on one of his misses in the first half, too. I think he’s had some confidence issues, but he’s on his way back. If he continues to make a couple moves before he shoots he’s going to get some more open looks and maybe get to the line a bit more. Really like that we had 5 guys in double figures last night…and McCamey WASN’T one of them. At any rate, let’s drub the hoosiers this Saturday…

heh, call me jaded, because he is a shadow of the MD we saw earlier this year, year the competition is stiffer in the BT, but he just doesn't hit the 12 footer and his back to the basket stuff like he did earlier. He was money with those shots earlier this year when we were considered a "top 25" team...but he's really been inconsistent lately. I expect that from Tis, but not from Davis after watching the first part of the season, he jsut seemed to be a guaranteed double double every game.
ok, was on a boring conf call, so decided to see how he did in terms of shooting, rebs and points:
at PSU - 4-6, 8 rebs, 11 points (good game -I've changed my stance, it seemed he had missed more shots :))
at NU - 0-3, 2 rebs, 0 points (yes he was sick)
vs PU - 8-16, 15 reb, 17 points (yes, a good game)
at MSU - 4-15, 4 reb, 11 points (terrible shooting night, low rebs)
vs PSU - 1-6, 4 rebs, 2 points (ugh)
at IU - 1-2, 11 rebs, 2 points (ugh, but good rebs)
vs IA - 3-8, 5 rebs, 6 points (meh)
vs ZAG - 6-16, 10 rebs, 12 points (shooting poor, not bad stats)
vs NU - 9-14, 17 rebs, 20 points (great game)
at MZ - 5-14, 13 reb, 11 points (shooting poor, not bad stats)
at GA - 6-12, 6 rebs, 12 points (decent game)
vs WMU - 6-10, 10 rebs, 12 points (decent game)
at VAN - 2-5, 8 rebs, 4 points (meh)
vs BSU - 8-19, 12 rebs, 16 points (good game)
at CLEM - 9-11, 9 rebs, 22 points (great game)
Bradley - 7-13, 8 rebs, 17 points (good game)
UTAH - 1-6, 5 rebs, 2 points (bad game)
vs WOF - 6-13, 11 rebs, 16 points (good game)
vs PRS - 6-8, 9 rebs, 12 points (good game)
vs NIU - 4-9, 17 rebs, 10 points (very good game)
vs SIUE - 4-5, 10 rebs, 10 points (good game)
seems like he was fairly consistent until the ZAGs game, where hs shot poorly, but got a double double, he really falls off after that game...does this coincide with the BT season? so for the season, he's at the following (21 games):
47.4% shooting, 9.2 rebs and 10.7 ppg
since the BT season started and then we played NU, his stats up until the ZAG's game, so from SIUE to vs NU were (13 games)
52.5% shooting, 10.3 rebs and 12.6 ppg
after the NU game including the ZAG's game, so ZAG to last night's game (8 games)
37.5% shooting, 7.3 rebs, and 7.6 ppg
stinky :(
Honestly, based on previous performance, I'd expect to see 50%+ shooting and near a double double, but his play as of late has been horrible if you take it as a whole.

Wow…11 points on 4-6 from the floor, 8 boards, 2 assists and a monster blocked shot while still suffering (possibly) from the flu is an “ok” effort? You’re a tough judge, man. J He had 17 &15 against Purdue, also. I’m just not seeing the consistently “terrible” play that you are.
I too screamed at the tv when he mishandled those two surefire dunk opportunities…but the most surprising thing I saw all night was when he pump faked his guy into the air, put the ball on the floor and drove in for the sweet little baseline jumper late in the 4th…my jaw literally dropped..as did the PSU defender’s.
I think this game confirmed lots of things…Weber is a lot better coach( wink wink) and we can be a tough out when we make shots…we’re never going to be a lock down defensive team…our freshmen have to contribute for us to have a chance and McCamey is getting better and better at running the show.

why couldn't we play this way against, NU, that loss really stings now.....ugh.
Mike Davis, even though he had an "OK" game, is just flat out terrible now, he's making mistakes like freshman out there. I hope he gets his head back in the game soon. I know he was sick at NU and maybe lingering effects in this game, but what about the last few weeks before?
great game by DJ, but Brandon paul? wtf? that foul in that last 1.5 min in which he fouled out had to been one of the dumbest things ever! looking at the replay it was cheapo, but he should not have been in that situation.
oh yeah, that was the longest 1:30 EVER!

The Illini finally put an end to our 3 game skid and beat Penn State by 10.
The iIlini lead by 11 in the first half then naturally fall behind in the second half.
D. J. Richardson had over 20 points and made key FT's late to seal the deal.
Let's win the next game by 20!
GO ILLINI FINALLY
Kevin
