We do usually match up better with Purdue. And we know their offense
pretty well. The other side of that is they know ours. So it should be a
close game; we just need to have the mental toughness to pull it out at
the end. It's doable, but who knows which team will come to the game? If
we can play with intensity and intelligence, especially regarding shot
selection, we have a good chance.

It would appear the concerns about facing OSU were valid. I gotta say,
though, I think the announcers gave a little too much credit to their
defense for our absolutely miserable shooting. No doubt the zone had us
out of sync, and they definitely denied a lot of inside passes, but we
also missed a number of WIDE open shots, as well as point-blank
putbacks. They shot 11-22 from 3 and we shot 4-24 -- I'm sorry, but
their perimeter D is not THAT much better than ours. We gave them a lot
of wide-open looks, though. Based solely on the last 3 games they sure
look like the best team in the conference right now (not fair as MSU was
without Lucas), but if we hadn't been so stone-cold shooting and they
hadn't been so hot, it would have at least been a competitive game. I
just don't see us beating them at their place, so I'm going to go ahead
and mark that one down as a loss. I would dearly love to beat Purdue at
their place, but we don't necessarily *have* to have that one either.
But if we lose that one we have to beat Minnesota, Michigan, and
Wisconsin, or make a heck of a run in the BTT. If we take a sound
beating at Purdue, that's going to be a tall order, as our confidence
will be right back down to earth again. So maybe we'd better go ahead
and beat Purdue :-).
