That's probably a realistic scenario, but if we win Sunday we'll probably be back in the top 25 polls and those usually have a pretty good correlation with NCAA tourney seeds. So that means we'd probably be in line for a 6/7 seed. Staying there would be a challenge, but with a good finish I think we might do better than a 9/10.
My thinking is that as we move off the bubble and become a solid tourney team, the committee is going to care less and less about the bad losses we had in Vegas. Those would hurt us as a bubble team, but once we're in, they're going to look more at how we did against other tournament teams. So that's where our 4-4 record vs RPI top 50 will help, wins over Vandy, Clemson, MSU, Wisconsin (and hopefully a couple more).
Long way to go still, of course....

I think about the best we can hope for is something like a 10, and
that's what I hope we get. Much better than a 9.
