Well, I was hoping for one big upset this season -- that didn't take long! Hopefully this will finally help Bruce get through to the guys what is possible when they work together and play for a full 40 minutes. Perhaps the most encouraging thing is that it wasn't a great game in all aspects but we still got the win -- FT shooting sucked (though Richardson pulled up the average late with some clutch FTs), and we still could have done much better on the boards. Offensively it was as good a game as we've seen in a long time, and McCamey was out of this world in scoring and assists (but how on Earth can such a great shooter and clutch performer still miss FTs when they really count - ARGH! :-). Just about everyone contributed something positive offensively at some point. Tisdale has a quiet coring night but still led on the boards. I'm sure MSU would have had a lot fewer turnovers with Lucas on the floor, but those are the breaks -- injuries happen. I
was hoping to run the table at home, and this was arguably the toughest remaining home game (certainly the highest pressure with all the hoopla of Game Day), so there's definitely hope for a tourney bid, but still lots of work to be done.

Let's keep this train rolling! I'd be happy with a respectable showing in Madison, as it's virtually impossible to win there, but with the confidence boost of this win, who knows. A win there would virtually guarantee a bid, but we still have a lot more chances to make that happen. But a blowout loss would all but wreck any confidence benefit gained from the huge win last night...

I.... L.... L....
