[Oskee] Very happy for the guys, but...

[really behind on my email -- been one of those weeks]
Assuming my memory is not failing me (a tenuous assumption at best these days), I took something slightly different away from that decision. I looked at it as a vote of confidence that the players could execute that play, and the kind of thing you would do when you truly have nothing left to lose. This truly is a team with nothing left to lose.
I'm not saying in a normal situation (i.e. a team playing to its ability) you'd make that call, but right now, there can be certain intangible gains (like team confidence) when an "all or nothing" decision like that pans out. And I'm definitely not saying I've had a change of heart on Zook. I'm just saying I'm OK with that particular call in that situation. But maybe that's just me :-).
So what's the outlook for Saturday? Do we have a shot at making it 3 in a row? It's good we're at home. I honestly know nothing about Northwestern this year -- I stopped caring about the standings when it became clear we weren't going to be a factor in them. I'd at least like to win a few down the stretch, because losing can become a habit/mindset, and that's the last thing this team needs right now.
One more day until the first hoops game that counts! Woohoo! :-)

I agree. I’m always glad when
our team wins, but once again Zook’s inept clock management at the end of
the first half nearly cost us a touchdown. Frankly, it would have served
him right if the review had found that Ford was down and time ran out before we
could score. In spite of a few bright spots from the players, Zook
continues to show that he just isn’t much of coach and I think he still
needs to go at the end of the year.

this is a very, very poorly coached
football team. The idiotic penalties (12 men in the huddle, taunting);
the multiple 3rd and long breakdowns; and the second game in a row
allowing a blocked punt.
Big hats off to Clay Nurse, Jacob Charest
and Arrelious Benn. It's something to build on!
OWW!
