[Oskee] A Boiler Beatdown

For all the talk about what has been wrong with our team over the past few
games, it seems pretty clear that Mike Davis' disappearance in that stretch
was the key. It was great to see him hitting that short pull up jumper
again today, and crashing the boards big time. Maybe it was a lingering
effect from his illness, or maybe he just hit a wall physically. But when
Davis plays like this, he is a matchup nightmare. His great mid range game
really free up some open jumpers on the perimeter too.

I am still concerned about the amount of time we waste during a possession
dribbling and going nowhere. But overall we looked like, well, a basketball
team again today. :-) We need to play 2 on the road just like we did today,
and we've all but locked up our tourney bid, and still have an outside shot
at a conference title.

TS

ps - when are our players going to learn that we can't hold the ball for the
last shot and start our play under 10 seconds? This absolutely drives me
crazy! We hold the ball for 25 seconds then fail to get a decent shot
because we don't have time to work our passes. It can't be that much hard
to start at 15 seconds can it? Okay, that's my only gripe of the day for
this game. :-)

Not as much fun as a win vs. the Hoosiers, but still gives you some
bragging rights there in Indiana, Kevin. Enjoy.

Well Bruce needs to find a hypnotist and let him
Hypnotize the players into thinking we are always playing Purdue.
The Boilers had a 100 or so students up in C always wanting
To Boiler Up, but the Illini wouldn't let them stoke the coals
As the Boilermakers never got close than 4 points once the game
started. Let's take this effort on the road for 2 wins.

        GO ILLINI

        Kevin
