Yes, I thought so, too. Very encouraging. I also took special note that the two high scores were super-sophs Tisdale and Davis. A nice confidence builder for those two and the whole team.

Subject: [Oskee] what a game
Wow, what a game for the Illini tonight. This team has some shortcomings,
but guts and heart is not one of them. Down 7 just before half and fought
back to a tie...down 6 late and fought it into OT and then pull out the W.
A few things are standing out to me. The passing on this team is vastly
improved and while they are in no way as skilled as the 05 team I love
seeing stats like 23 assists on 25 baskets.
Anyone remember after the season ended last year when Weber called players
in and TOLD them what their roles would be (resulting in a couple of
transfers). This team has role players that do what they are supposed to
and they have bought into the team concept.
Lastly, as one who has always been a fan of Chester's heart, but certainly
not his skills or decision making, I'll gladly eat some crow and say to Chet
that he is playing awesome this year. His stat lines are solid, his
assist/turnover ratio is great and his defense is outstanding. If the rest
of the team can play as hard as him we are quite possibly headed back to the
tourney this year. Gameball to you, Chester.
