However this plays out, it looks like we'll get one of the two hottest teams in the country(Rose=USC, CAPITAL ONE=Florida)...neither of whom we match up favorably with. I suppose it's the old "if you want to run with the big dogs" thing.

I was half right -- if a Big 10 team finishes 1 or 2
in the BCS, then all bets are off, and the Rose Bowl no longer has to
take a Big 10 team. So the URL you quote only has to do with the
champion who can get an auto bid if no Big 10 team finishes 1 or 2 in
the BCS. Theoretically, I guess, the champion could be different from a
team that finishes 1 or 2 in the BCS, but that is unlikely in the
extreme. (Though watch what happens if WVU and Mizzou both
lose...Georgia could go despite not winning their SEC *division*.)
So Ohio State will go if WVU and Missouri win this week. Michigan can't
go. We may go if the Buckeyes are in the MNC game. Wisconsin would be
a long shot to go, but technically could if they finish in the 10
at-large eligible teams.
