I agree you don't hear much about him being an Illini, but most pro golfers don't have their alma maters mentioned much either. Chris DiMarco is an outspoken Florida Gator grad, and we all know Tiger went to Stanford, but those are the exceptions.

Pretty sure he was here within the last couple of years, and is fairly  
tight with Mike Small.

I also think, though, that his father-in-law is, or was, the golf coach  
at Wisconsin, which is another reason he is fairly close to that  
program.
